Well, if you're bored this weekend, you can't blame it on me! Tom Ender apparently chained himself to his computer, because not only did he get out his weekly movie review and TV-movie features, he's got the May issue of Sunni's Salon out already. (Okay, maybe it wasn't hot on the heels of the long-lost January issue, but that's a lot of work done quickly, and very well, by Tom.)

And me? I've got a couple of items of Salon business to see to this morning while the snolfs are still sleeping, and then it's time to begin the Great Truffle-Making Extravaganza! Well, I'll confess that I've already started ... the coconut's been cracked and shredded and toasted, the raspberry sauce is made, and the honey spice ganache is in the fridge, patiently waiting to slip into its pretty chocolate shell. But I've lots of work awaiting me still, so it's time to get on with it.

I remember the story about Thomas Edison's invention of the lightbulb. He had countless failures before figuring it out. Few of us have his patience, but the lesson is that you haven't failed until you give up. Candy making is delicate business. Or so I've heard. Never tried it myself.
