Endervidual's Mood: Hopeful, with the New Year

Music: Leningrad by Billy Joel

Like Billy Joel, I'm a "cold war kid." For decades I thought the world would end in a way similar to the final scenes of Dr Strangelove.

Things look different now. The Soviet empire has crumbled, Doomsday weapons don't seem to worry many people these days. Unfortunately, even without the "Red menace," the question "What do they keep on fighting for?" seems as relevant as ever. Billy Joel hints at the root problem in his song.

With a new year I am filled with fresh hope. That is reflected in some of the articles in the newly posted Ender's review. This will be the last review covering only 2006 (next issue will cross years). I hope you enjoy it and my music selection. Happy New Year.

Wow. Billy Joel still has that magic.
