The other day we went for a ride in a hot air balloon! It was my first time on such an expedition, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone did, actually; and the crew seemed to like that we enthusiastically helped with packing up after the trip was over too. More, perhaps, when I’ve some time to devote to telling about the adventure ... but that may not be for a while, as we’re going to be on the move again soon.

That sounds great! Like Presto, that's something I would love to do as well. One of my clients operates a hot air balloon service and I've been meaning to give him a call to make book a flight.

Yeah, add me to the 'want to go for a ride in a balloon list' - only 40 min away from where I live, there is a regular ballooning operation in the local vineyard region of the Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia. They do a sunrise balloon ride followed by champagne breakfast :-)

Where I used to live in the Southern California desert, there were often a large number of these balloons in the air on crisp fall and winter mornings. I enjoyed watching them, but never felt the urge to get into one. The minor problem of high cost and low opportunity didn't really enter into it somehow. These were private craft, and none were for hire as I recall.
I love to fly, and even contemplated learning to fly at one point, but never got into the balloon thing.

I've always wanted to take a hot-air balloon ride, but the occasion has never come up. I also want to fly in a glider. One of these days I'll get around to it.
