On the Subject of Mr. Potter ...

No, no, not that Mr. Potter—I’m referring to the real, unequivocably pro-freedom Mr. Potter.

I mean, of course, the singular George Potter. He’s one of the best pro-freedom story-spinners I have encountered; the acclaim he has garnered on various fora where he has posted stories suggests I’m not alone in that evaluation of his skill. He was kind enough to give me permission to publish some of his material here and at Doing Freedom!, where they were well received.

Our paths diverged a while back, and I haven’t kept up with him or his writing. A while back I got some excellent news from him, though: he’s putting together a book; and my understanding is that it is currently in his editor’s hands. I’m looking forward to wrapping my coils around that volume, to be sure! However, while we’re all waiting for that project to come to fruition, it has come to my attention that George has been blogging for a while. Currently titled Market Theocracy (he said over at The Boondocks that he may change it), it provides interesting peeks into George’s mind, as he comments on varied subjects, as well as posting about writing and posting his own fiction. If not for his entry A Good Year & Stiff Competition, I probably would never have known that all of the Hugo Award nominees for best short story are available (for free, apparently) online. Great stuff—and just the right motivator for me to plow through my very long to-do list today.

Speaking of, I’d better see to starting on it ... but I hope many of you can hop over and enjoy George’s musings right now.
