Flying with Sunni’s Salon has been Delayed

Yah, that doesn't make much sense ... I think my cuppa has worn off and I need more caffeine this morning. Either that or I need to stop trying to include everything I plan to touch on in my ramblings in the subject header.

I've been in negotiations with Sweetie regarding a trip to squeeze him sometime soon. That would mean flying there. I used to enjoy flying, but having just read the short piece Airlines have taken the fun out of flying from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, I'm doubtful I will now. Between the faux security gauntlet [assuming that I'm even allowed to purchase a ticket] and apparently nonexistent airline service, it sounds like it would be a joyless ride on the highway to hell. Really, would I need to bring my own drinks and food? $1 for a small bag of peanuts is ripoff city, if you ask me.

On this month's issue of Sunni's Salon ... I missed a window of opportunity with my scheduled interview victim and that's delayed the whole shebang. Rather than add more stress to my (and Tom's) busy routines, I've decided to hold this month's issue and publish another double issue for January and February. I have no intentions of making this a permanent change; and the aforementioned lists should help me keep to the monthly schedule from here on. My apologies for the delay -- but again, the double issue should be worth it. I've a special, er, "spicy" guest cooked up for February's interview!

Yes, I'd wondered before if you'd checked that.

Flying ain't so bad. Going through security is a little more onerous than it used to be, but I've been flying for 35 years now and I've seen worse stuff abroad. Since 9/11 I've had to go through Special Security (once), had my checked in luggage pawed through by the TSA (once), but no major delays. On board airline sesrvice has declined, and while some airlines provide food, it's always a good idea to pack some snacks just in case. I used to love flying. Now it's just another tooth-gnashing routine until it's over, like going to post office.
