Got Time?

Skeptical Man's picture

Every once in a while, an idea comes along that is so revolutionary, yet so obvious in hindsight, that you have to kick yourself three times around the block for missing it. If you are at all interested in astrophysics, and aren't familiar with the GTR theory (Gravitational Transverse Redshift) then you might want to check it out: http://www.stanford.edu/~afmayer/

You might want to sit down first. And bolt the chair to the floor.

Thanks for posting this. I watch for news like this, but hadn't seen it. I guess this means Alpha Centauri will remain 4 light years away for the forseeable future.

Ed says:

There is no such thing as time - there is only counting changes in distance between objects as expressed by the earths orbit, the earths rotation, a pendulum, sands in an hour glass or the vibration of cesium atoms. Time is an illusion, Movement is reality.

Sunni says:

Ed, I took the subject to be making that point.

Michael, I know I owe you an email still ... and to update your URL in my blogroll. sigh ...

Michael Paladin says:

No hurry. I've updated my website, but haven't done much on the book. ("Much" is a euphemism for "anything.")
